Collective/COHORT Application
As the 5th Woman evolves into a community organization that is writing to radicalize the souls of women by telling the untold stories of women and girls across our nation. There are multiple ways to get involved. If you have never before been in a 5th Woman presentation, you will need to apply for the next fellowship. The fellowship will be approximately 6 months and will culminate with your participating in a full length spoken-word theatrical presention in 1 or more citites. During the 6 months leading up to the performances, poets will participate in monthly writing workshops and 1-on-1 sessions with the executive director. However, if you are a veteran you can apply for the collective and begin participating in other performances and opportunities throughout the year.
Requirements to applying for participation with the 5th Woman:
Commitment to growth as a performance poet
Ability to meet submission deadlines
Ability to be a team player and take constructive criticism
Commitment to create and distribute poetry product
Commitment to assist in the maintenance and growth of the 5th Woman brand.
There is a rolling deadline for application to the touring collective: the last day of the month in July, October, January, and April. Fellowship applications are reviewed every June with selection happening in July and the fellowship beginning in August. The cost of the fellowship is $600. There are 4 scholarships available each year, so if you are interested the early bird gets the scholarship.
